Participatory Workshop of the Path4Med Research Project

 

 

The 1st Participatory Workshop of the Path4Med. "Joint Action for 
Zero Water and Soil Pollution"
was successfully held on February 4, 2025, in Lamia. The event was coordinated by the GIS Research Unit of the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and brought together 60 participants, including representatives from institutions, agronomists, and farmers, all working towards reducing water and soil pollution.
The workshop began with brief speeches from:
K. Apostolopoulos – Deputy Regional Governor of Central Greece for Agricultural Economy,
Livestock, and Fisheries
I. Theodorakopoulos – Economist, General Director of the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company of Lamia
V. Moschos – President of the Agricultural Association of Phthiotis-Evrytania
✔️ Presentation of Path4Med and its importance for the Mediterranean region and the Spercheios River basin.
✔️ Interactive exercises exploring the link between human activities and environmental impacts.
✔️ Open discussion to identify key needs and challenges in pollution management.
✔️ Development and classification of proposals to tackle environmental issues.
