AGRILEARN Partners' Meeting in Madrid

The GIS Research Unit of the Agricultural University of Athens, recognizing the growing need for sustainable agricultural practices, is developing structured educational materials as part of the AGRILEARN project. These materials provide a detailed overview of key concepts in digital and smart agriculture, along with explanations of how various tools are utilized in the field. The content will be integrated into the AGRILEARN online learning platform, supporting the training of professionals in modern agricultural technologies.
🌐🤝One year after the program's launch in early November 2023, project partners from Cyprus, Spain, Greece, and the Netherlands gathered in Madrid for a highly productive meeting. This collaboration marks another significant step toward developing an innovative online platform for smart agricultural techniques, reinforcing the commitment to advancing sustainable and digital farming practices.
💡AGRILEARN project is a two-year EU-funded initiative under the ERASMUS+ KA2-Cooperation Action scheme. It aims to strengthen and support the European agricultural industry by promoting smart and digital farming practices. The project is dedicated to creating opportunities and enhancing skills for people in rural areas, with a strong focus on adopting environmentally friendly technologies and methods to combat climate change. A key aspect of AGRILEARN is the development of an innovative, user-friendly online platform, which will play a crucial role in facilitating the adaptation of farmers and stakeholders to modern smart agricultural practices, empowering them, and improving the acceptance of new methodologies.
☑️The AGRILEARN project has the following specific objectives:
🡆Strengthening the agricultural sector in Europe.
🡆Providing opportunities for populations in rural and isolated areas with limited access to resources.
🡆Implementing smart farming across the EU to effectively address the climate crisis.
🡆Promoting the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies and methods.
🡆Developing an innovative, user-friendly online platform with audiovisual VET training materials focused on smart farming techniques and their adoption by users.
🌱💡🤝The meeting in Madrid served as a hub for idea exchange, finalizing key objectives, and strategizing the development of the platform that will host audiovisual content for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of smart farming. Partners assessed the project's progress, shared insights on smart agricultural practices, and outlined the next steps for implementation. Discussions also focused on ensuring that the platform meets the diverse needs of farmers and stakeholders across Europe, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, usability, and sustainability.
