At the event, the professors from the Agricultural University of Athens, Mr. Dionysios Kalyvas and Mr. Georgios Kotseridis, were also present. They made brief interventions, presenting the wealth of data and knowledge acquired for Nemea, following the completion of a four-year (2018-2022) research program for the region. The effort of P.D.O. NEMEA LIONS is supported by the GIS Research Unit of the Agricultural University of Athens, under the responsibility of Professor Kalyvas. The unit continues to monitor the diverse terroir and the development of the vineyards, utilizing modern geospatial technologies, including a dense network of agrometeorological stations, high-resolution satellite data, UAV flights, and monitoring of soil conditions.
