Admission Announcement for the MSc Program 2021-2022 – Department of NRD & AE
As part of the Master's Program (MSc) of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NRD & AE), for the Academic Year 2021-2022, the specialization in Geoinformatics and Spatial Analysis will be offered (Program Coordinator: Prof. Dionysis Kalivas, Tel: +30 2105294091, Email: kalivas@aua.gr), organized by the GIS Research Unit.
The core scientific subjects covered in the first two semesters include Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Databases, Remote Sensing, Spatial Statistics – Geostatistics, Spatial Modeling, Object-Oriented Programming, and Web GIS, along with applications in natural resources, the environment, and digital (spatially defined) agriculture – precision agriculture.
In the third semester, seminars and lectures by professionals (industry experts, researchers, and professionals utilizing geospatial technologies) will complement students' education by providing insights into real-world applications and career opportunities. During this semester, students also undertake their Master’s Thesis, which must be successfully defended as a requirement for program completion.
