The GIS Research Unit of AUA welcomes Mr. Konstantinos Souli to its scientific team. Mr. Souli, who has been elected as a new faculty member in the Department of Natural Resources & Agricultural Engineering at AUA, at the rank of Associate Professor, with a focus on "Geoinformatics and Spatial Analysis in Agriculture and the Environment," will significantly strengthen the educational and research activities of the GIS Research Unit.
These activities involve the application and utilization of cutting-edge technologies (Geographical Information Systems - GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS Positioning Systems, WebGIS, Digital Mapping) for the collection, organization, visualization, and analysis of spatial data in order to address issues in digital, spatially defined agriculture (precision farming) as well as the study, management, protection, and evaluation of natural resources and the environment.
