Luca Bonfiglioli has graduated as agronomist at the department of “agricultural and Environmental Science” and later complete the PhD in “Plant and Animal Science” at Tuscia University (Viterbo, Italy). His work focused on increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of organic crop breeding, assessing genotypically and phenotypically durum wheat for tolerance to drought and salinity.

In 2024 he has participated in a programme for the research of the genes involved in the generation of aroma precursor and volatile compounds during alcoholic fermentation of red and white wine at the Agricultural University of Athens.

He is currently part of the research unit and involved in the Path4Med programme, a multidisciplinary project working to achieve zero water and soil pollution in Mediterranean agro-hydro systems while promoting sustainable development for people and ecosystems.
